Privacy Policy

This site (tonite.fyi) is operated by Matthew Wolff as an individual. This page explains what data is collected, how it's used, and how to contact me about it.

What this site collects

The events viewer is a static HTML page. The site itself does not ask you to log in, fill out forms, or submit personal information.

Three pieces of data are collected automatically when you visit:

• Standard server logs. Amazon CloudFront and AWS S3 record IP address, request timestamp, requested URL, user agent, and referrer for every page request. These logs are retained for operational and security purposes.
• Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Pageview, session, and basic device information (browser, OS, approximate location). GA4 sets a first-party cookie (_ga) used to distinguish unique visitors. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics. Pageview counts and page-load performance metrics (Core Web Vitals). This service uses no cookies, stores no data on your device, and does not track you across sites. It collects only aggregate performance data. Learn more.

What this site does not do

• No retargeting or advertising pixels (no Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, X/Twitter, etc.).
• No selling, sharing, or licensing of data to third parties.
• No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking beyond GA4's first-party cookie.
• No account system. Nothing to register for. Nothing to log into.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link and complete a purchase on the destination site, this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These links are routed through services like Skimlinks, Impact, Awin, and similar networks; the destination site may set its own cookies after you click.

Affiliate links are marked on the events viewer with a small asterisk (*) where applicable. Paid placements (when present) are labeled "Ad". See the Terms of Service for the full disclosure.

Newsletter (if applicable)

If you sign up for a newsletter on this site, your email address is stored by the email service provider (currently planned: Buttondown or Beehiiv) and is used solely to send you that newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email. Unsubscribe requests are honored within 10 business days, in line with the federal CAN-SPAM Act.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. No data is knowingly collected from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information here, please contact me at the address below and I will delete it.

Your rights

If you would like to:

• Know what data has been collected about you
• Have that data deleted
• Opt out of analytics tracking

Because this site is operated by an individual based in the United States and does not meet the thresholds of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CPRA), Colorado Privacy Act, or similar state laws, formal compliance machinery (a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link, etc.) is not provided. If those thresholds are crossed in the future, this policy will be updated and those mechanisms will be added.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the site evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be noted on the events viewer.
